So it has occured to me when talking to a friend of mine why I like my Monday night D&D 4th edition so much. It isn't about the who has best damages and such. Its how much fun you can have with your character and if roleplay is involved, how well you can roleplay. Here is what makes it so.
As I can say this since I'm involved and right now, under "legal" jargan because we have it made that if we want to, we can create a video game, the characters first name will be used.
You have:
- Bharak (Pronounced Bah-Ha-Rock) - A Dragonborn Fighter who falls under the norm of being an honor-bound person.
- Tainer - A Gnome that is now a Shadarkai (Look it up on google and you will see what that is) Rogue that is right now an assassin who does his normal thing.
- Astrophel - A Human Warlock that is under a star-pact which basically involves damage, but not find power to damage alot and cause some issues to enemies at times and he is a rather quiet being.
- Barakas (Pronounced Ba-Rock-es) - A Tiefling Warlock that is under an infernal-pact that basically involves more power, will make deals and do anything to get himself more power.
- Jerrott - A Human Warlord that is a guard for Kai-jin who still takes care of the rest of the group, but still keeps note of his job is to protect Kai-jin.
Then the unexpected people:
- Gelmir (me) - An Eladrin Wizard (think Eladrin as a higher version of an Elf), who was raised in seclusion of the real world only thinking that he knows how things are supposed to work and learns the outside world to see if that really is true and raised so that things that he does is correct to do and acceptable in life.
- Kai-jin (Pronounced Kye then Jinn) - A half-Eladrin Ranger (Which in Eladrin belief, Half-Eladrin's don't exist, they are not-spoken of. Eladrins are by thought to be purebred) which the other half is Human who is 16 years old and has issues and does not show traits what so ever of true maturity, does things that wouldn't normally apply to Eladrins and much less to a "correctly" brought up person.
So let me remind you. All of our character's were made seperately with the exception of Jerrott and Kai-jin who were made initially together as an "I'm a Princess, you guard me everywhere" thing. Astrophel was made on his own and coincidentally, he managed to be almost in link with a person from Kai-jin's backstory so he incidentally got his linked up.
So the fact is is that My character and my friend's Kai-jin are opposites but were technically made for fun synergy. Ironic?
Anyways, Voting later on. Going to bed now and perhaps I'll see if I can get on and talk some more.
