This will be a guide on how to power level a mage in WoW. As of right now I only know how to do it with alliance mages. I might make a horde mage to write a guide for that.

First 10 levels you just want to do them as fast as possible.

Once you reach level 10 max out Improved Arcane missiles with 5 talent points, and that will put you at level 14.

Once you reach level 15 put 2 points into Imp. Frost bolt and 3 into Elemental Precision. You should be lvl 19 at this time.

Once you reach level 20 you will be opened to the second line of of talents for frost you should put 2 points into Imp. Frost Nova, and three into Permafrost, and then just 1 point for now into Ice Shards. This is all you need in the second row of talent points for now.

You should now be 25, and still just questing and grinding out EXP.

Once you reach level 26 go and max out Imp. blizzard with 3 talent points, and then one into Cold Snap.

Early Talent points from 10-29:
http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=R0xZZMuMhs

Now you should be 29, and this is when the fun starts and you can actually start AOE grinding out your levels. But, before you do this make sure you go to the Auction House and try to get as many peices of armor as you can that are +stamina, and +intellect. Doing this will allow you get larger pulls, and lets you use more skills like mana shield, and counterspell (helps pulling mobs)

But before you can AOE grind you must know how to do it. These are the steps to AOE grinding:
1) Round up your mob and use a Frost Nova. If you get dazed then blink or if you dont walk away, but you want to be at max distance from the mob before you lay your first blizzard.

2) Turn around and lay a blizzard on the mob. When you drop the blizzard you want to try and get it to where the mob will walk through the blizzard.

3) Then when the first blizzard is done, drop another blizzard to were again the mob will be walking through it, but you want to make sure you put the edge of blizzard on the first mob towards you.

4) Once the second blizzard is done you should beable to frost nova again.
5) Back or blink away and blizzard again. Some of the mobs require you to drop one more blizzard. Then collect your phat lewts.
6) (Sometimes Required Step) Instead of a frouth blizzard some mobs will run in fear or you realize they dont need another blizzard but rather a Cone of Cold or Arcane Explosion. If you see this just run in there and have some fun. This is the most fun part of the AOE just running in and poping off an Arcane Explosion.

*Tips*
When lower level dont use counterspell, and mana shield till you have more mana. You dont want to see a mob coming for you and all they need is one more Blizzard and you dont have the mana. Also use blink sparingly at first. If you are not dazed you can normally reach max distance rather quickly, but at higher levels you can use blink after each frost nova.

Dont be afriad to run. Some times they will resist and its better to just run away and eat/drink and come back and try it. You also will die a lot, but that is the way of the mage.

Takes a couple times to get use to it, but dont give up it will become second nature when you get it.

Now off to the AOE grinding. The first place you want to go is in Duskwood, just to the south of Darkshire.

Here is a map and cords if you use them: 73,65

Spot one is where you will do your first pulls. (When I got there they had been cleaned out. I marked on the picutes where they should be) There are three pulls here.

The first pull is a group of 4 to 5 depending on if you get the guy around the tree (The guy behind the tree is number 5) or not. Here is a picture:

The second pull are the guys around the wagon.

Then the third pull here is the guys right next to the wagon. It is a larger pull but it can be done if Frost Nova is done quickly, and your blizzards are on time. This is a really good place to learn.

Now onto spot 2. To get there just go over the mountains that are just behind pull 3 at the first spot. You will see four mobs by a tree, and that is your pull at spot 2.

The second pull at spot 2 is another large group, but if you use your spells right it is super easy.

After that pull in spot 2 you will need to head to the last spot here in Duskwod. Go through the camp of the last mob you killed, and follow the mountains on your left, and you will come up to an opening. That is spot 3.

Spot 3 has a bunch of guys and I suggest that you take like bits of the guys, and not just one big pull. A little heads up, these guys respawn like crazy, unlike all the other spots here in Duskwood. So when you kill 70% of the guys in spot three they will respawn on you very fast. This is a good spot to kill things while you wait for spots 1 and 2 to respawn.

Talent points from level 30 to 34:
Put 1 point into Arctic Reach to help with Blizzard at level 30.
Then max at Frost Chenneling with 3 talent points. Should be level 33.
Then max out Arctic Reach with one more point. Should be level 34

You should be able to get to level 33 or 34 here in Duskwood. Once you hit 33 or 34 you will want to move onto Arathi Highlands (Just north of Wetlands, and flight path is at Refuge Pointe)

Once you get to Refuge Pointe you will want to go east towards Go`Shek Farm. Here is a map and cords for the farm: 62,58

This area is probably the best place I have ever AOEed. The pulls are close together, the guys die easy, and once you get to level 35 you can start to pull about 8 to 10 guys in one mob.

But before you start pulling them all you will want to pull the first four guys where the number 1 is on the picture. There are two stationary guys at pull 1. One is by the shack, and another one is by a bush. Then there are 2 patrols and you want to try and get them both.

Pull 2 is the right side pasture (Marked 2 on the picture). When you are lower level you will want to just pull 4 or 5 guys, and then pull the other ones when you are done. Once you get to level 35 you can start useing Mana Shield to help pull the whole pasture.

Pull 3 is the left side pasture (Marked 3 on the picutre). Do the same thing as the right side pasture.

These guys respawn pretty fast so by the time you do all the pulls you can start right over again.

This area can get you to 36-37.

Talent points from 35 to 37:
Max Cone of Cold. Should be level 37
http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=R0xZZMuMhsf0h

Once you reach level 37 you will want to get to Theramore, and venture out to kill some Murlocs. These next levels are going to be the hardest that you will have to worry about.

Here is a map, and cords: 56,20

The reason why these are some of the hardest pulls you will have to worry about is the Murlocs start to run in fear once you get them down to about 150 health, so you have to watch them and make sure they dont aggro other mobs. Also the terrian here is difficult to get good pulls, and good room for Blizzard so you have to play around a little bit to get it down.

Area three is a very tuff area. There are many patrols up there, and they can pat into you and mess up your AOE. I didn't do this area when I was leveling I just went to areas 1 and 2, but I want you all to know where every mob can be, and if you find a better way to pull them please let me know.

Here is the first pull for area 1 from the cords I gave earlier.

Area 2 is just to the west of the island. There is a runner that will run from area 2 to area 3. I would either wait for him or try to pull the runner with the group of 3 murlocs that are on the road to area 2.

A real simple way of getting back to area 1 is to just head over the mountains and then head back east. You will come right back onto area 1 and they will be respawned.

This is area 3. There are a lot of Murlocs here, but they are very diffecult to round up and get them all. Again do at your own risk.

Dustwood should get you to 42 or 43. If you get tired of the murlocs an option maybe is do an instance and help build up your plus stamina and plus intelect gear.

Talent points from 38-42:
At this time I would resepc. You will no longer need 5 points into Arcane Missiles.
Once you resepc, you will want to put points back into everything you had before.
Then you will want to max out Ice Shards with Five points. (The points you took out of Arcane Missiles)
Then you will want to put one point into Piercing Ice for now. Should be level 38.
Then put one point into Ice Block. Should be level 39.
Then put one point into Ice Barrier. Should be level 40. (Go get your mount :) )
Then max out Piercing Ice with two more points. Should be level 42.
http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=RZZcAMIsfzho

The next area is in Taranis. Long walk, but well, there is really no easy way to get around it, unless you got a good warlock friend who likes you :) .

This is as far as I have gotten for right now. I will edit my post as I level and get to the new areas. Enjoy for now!
