Well now that I have played all the systems a little bit more I can better understand how I would rank them.
My order is PS3, Wii, and Xbox360.
I currently own a PS3 and really like it. I am a little disappointed in the lack of games that are PS3 only but I have enjoyed the Blue-Ray, and other games that are on the Xbox360 and PS3. As others have mentioned the controller for Xbox360 is very large, and I don't like the way it feels in my hands. I still love how Sony has not changed the design of the controller but added features over the years.
I am still beating that PS3 will become the dominate system over the next 2-3 years. No game has been made that has actually used 75% of the processing power the PS3 has. Once game manufactures see the full potential of the PS3 they will jump on board, and make games that will be like nothing we have ever seen.
Still loading times are some times longer than I like, the price was a lot, but made a killing over Christmas break. Blue-Ray is a nice feature, and the free online play is always nice.
As for the Wii I bought one for my girlfriend for V-day and I really got a surprise from how much I had. Really brought me back to the good old days of wholesome fun. I really enjoyed Wii sports, and I got a chance to play the new Zelda game and from what I played it was a lot of fun, and had a pretty cool story line.
But after playing the Wii for a bit I realized it lacked the graphics that I have come to accept in games (picky I know but that is their own fault). I began to notice in Zelda large patches of blocking in the graphics, and straight edged mountain cliffs, and peaks. This seems simple to not notice or care about but after playing games like Assassins creed, and COD4, those things really jumped out at me.
The controller was really neat when playing Wii sports. I really felt like I was getting into it and I could easily see why older generations were getting into the Wii market. But again after I got past the initial enjoyment my long experience with game play saw some flaws. From time to time I noticed lag with the controller and as any gamer knows lag=death and annoying. I also got the annoying range problem when I wanted to sit down, and I would get delay or just no response when I would set up the wireless receiver on top or bottom of the TV (I configured it right after each change). After using my PS3 wireless controller for awhile and being able to play almost any where in the room as long as I was in line of sight of the console, made me realize how spoiled I was with the PS3 set up.
As for the 360 it is the least played of the consoles for me. So I am a little low on knowledge of it. But since I own a PS3 and can play most of the games that are for the 360 on it I don't really see a need to play one or get one, and I dont like the controller as much as the others, and pay to play online seems a little week to me.
So in summary the PS3 is expensive and those who can't afford it get the 360. They are pretty much the same system as of right now, but give it a year or two, and you will be wishing you had a PS3 in my opinion. You also get Blue-Ray, still the cheapest Blue-Ray on the market. And the PS3s games appeal to me more than any others.
The Wii is just over all fun, and can be the life of a party. Really fun for kids, and people who want to have fun like they did when they were young playing games. To me the games I like just wont cut it on the Wii, not because the game play or story lines are bad, but because the graphics and controller just don't meet my picky standards.
Well thats my Battle of the Console imput.
Happy Hunting
